COLOR & REGISTRATION MARKS
Identify a color.
Locate a printed mark.
Separate the task you need to perform, then review the target, background and installation with supplier technical support.
Two tasks.
Different application details.
Color identification distinguishes selected target colors. Registration mark detection locates a printed mark against a background, for example as a position reference in a machine process.
The supplied JENGOG catalog contains color and mark-detection series. Candidate selection includes the complete model, sensing head configuration and the conditions of the actual target.
SUPPLIER CATALOG REFERENCE
See the sensor. Then check your sample.
The JENGOG catalog illustrates JGEB color and mark-sensing products. A catalog image is not proof of performance on your printed mark, surface or machine speed. Send a representative target and background for a model-specific review.
What should be checked?
| Task | Distinguish colors or detect the position of a mark? State the output decision your machine needs. |
| Target and background | Colors, mark dimensions, background variation and representative samples. |
| Surface and illumination | Gloss, reflective finish, changing ambient light and possible installation angles. |
| Movement and signal | Target speed, spacing, viewing distance and required controller input. |
Describe the sample and installation together. A catalog feature or a demonstration on one sample does not establish performance on every color, material or surface.
Color identification
Send the target colors and the distinction that matters to the machine. Include acceptable variations and any difficult surface finish.
Registration mark detection
Show the printed mark beside its background. Include mark size, spacing, movement and where the output should be triggered.
Color and mark sourcing questions
Is color identification the same as registration mark detection?
Color identification distinguishes taught colors. Registration mark detection locates a mark relative to its background. They require different application checks.
What should I send for a color or mark review?
Send the sample and background colors, target size, surface finish, viewing distance, movement speed and the signal needed by the controller. Include a photo or short process video if available.
Can one sensor be used on every color and surface?
Selection depends on the target, background, surface finish, illumination and installation. Representative samples should be reviewed before confirming a candidate.
START A SENSOR REVIEW
Show us the target and background.
A sample photo and process description make a better starting point than a sensor name alone.
