Four replacement checks
- Full model and output: compare NPN or PNP and normally open or normally closed with the controller input.
- Flush mounting: confirm how the existing sensor sits in metal and compare the available installation space with the catalog drawing.
- Target and gap: state the metal material, target size and actual sensing gap; the catalog’s 2 mm value does not validate every target.
- Connection: these catalog examples have a cable. If your existing sensor has a connector, send its pinout or a photo before discussing a substitute.

Common questions
Are JTR-12N2DB and JTR-12P2DB the same output?
No. The catalog lists the first as NPN normally open and the second as PNP normally open. Check the controller input before selecting a variant.
Can a non-flush M12 sensor be replaced by this flush model?
Do not decide from diameter alone. Compare sensing distance, mounting position, target and electrical behavior against the full existing model.
Does a 2 mm catalog distance guarantee detection in my machine?
No. Target material and size, installation and actual gap must be reviewed for the application.
